The Hofstede model China and Colombia
Colombia and China are two countries with some similarities and differences. In relation to the Hofstede model there are marked differences in the dimensions of Uncertainty avoidance, Long term orientation Colombia and Indulgence.In the case of Colombia (80%), the high percentage in uncertainty avoidance refers to the inflexibility and the structuring of the rules that still exist. This result differs from China (30%), which is more flexible, so it can get out of the status quo better. Long term orientation in the Chinese (87%) means that they are more pragmatic and can change their traditions to the needs of the context. Colombia (13%), however, has a low score in this dimension, which is related to less modifiable traditions that seek quick results. Finally In Colombia (83%) there is a significantly high score on indulgence, it is observed that people have an optimistic attitude and prefer to give in to their desires and impulses, unlike China (24) considered a restricted society where people feel pressured by social norms and they feel guilty if they perform everything they want or want.
